System and Network Administrators

HyperX Systems, LLC headquartered in Chicago is a company performing network design, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting - primarily for prominent financial firms. Due to ongoing growth we are seeking seasoned proficient System Administrators.

Required technical expertise:

Strong understanding of MS Windows XP, 2000, 2003 operating systems including manual and custom installations and configuring services. Knowledge of Linux is a plus.

Experience with networking/distributed computing environment concepts including: Routing, Client/Server Programming, Design of consistent network-wide file system layouts

Experience in automation of system administration processes and development of new management services

Prior experience with network security including high level understanding of firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, auditing, vulnerability assessment, and security and network-related monitoring tools

Responsibilities:

Installing, configuring and maintaining Windows/Linux based workstations and servers in support of business processing requirements.

Performs software installations and upgrades to Windows/Linux operating systems and layered software packages and maintains them in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum level of performance and integrity

Ensures data/media recoverability by implanting schedule of system database archive operations.

Plans, designs and implements networked systems, including configurations, supporting/troubleshooting network problems and coordinating with vendors for installation of such items as routers, bridges, concentrators and switches. Works on project implementation. Provides training and assists with proposal writing. Conducts project planning, cost analysis and vendor comparisons.

Position Requirements:

BA or BS degree from an accredited 4-year college or university and 2 + years of previous systems administration, 30% travel to Chicago suburbs and Wisconsin.
